Weber Grills

Whether you are looking for gas, charcoal, or electric, Weber makes a tremendous selection of styles and sizes of outdoor grills.  A trusted manufacturer, Weber has been in the grill business since starting in 1952.  Since then, the products and technology have evolved, but the company stands behind its craftsmanship and dedication to a superior outdoor cooking experience.

Charcoal grills

Weber’s charcoal grills are characterized by their “kettle” shape, the original design that has evolved over the years.  Weber’s charcoal grills offer a variety of sizes to suit a variety of cooking needs. Some models offer food preparation space on the sides of the grill, while another features a gas ignition system.  If you are a fan of charcoal cooking, Weber has a grill to suit your size, convenience, and pricing needs.

Gas grills

Weber makes gas grills in two- and three-burner models, their most basic grills, all the way up to high-end, 18-burner models.  From the basic backyard grill to the sophisticated built-in model, Weber has a tremendous variety of grills to suit nearly any backyard chef.

Electric grills

Weber’s electric grill, the Q-140, features 189 square inches of grilling surface.  For those who prefer the convenience of an electric grill, this model’s catch pan and easy-to-regulate heating element make it a superior choice.

Smokers

Weber makes two smokers:  an 18.5 inch and a 22 inch cooking surface model.  Depending on the volume of your smoking needs, either is a terrific choice for achieving that smoky, tender flavor of meat you just cannot get any other way.

Quality and Reliability

Weber stands behind its products, offering excellent customer service, warranties, and helpful recipes, tips, and a line of accessories. Depending on the part, warranties on the grills run from 2 to 25 years.  Clearly, the company stands behind its products.

The Weber website is easy to navigate and even features a grill selector to help you narrow down what kind of grill you need.  You can order replacement parts, get answers to frequently asked questions, find a dealer, register your grill, and find recipes on the site as well.  The company’s devotion to customer satisfaction and to providing quality products is evident.  While firmly rooted in tradition, Weber keeps up with the changing needs of its customers.  The website even features grilling apps for the iPhone and iPad to help its technologically savvy customers.

If you’re shopping for a grill, take some time to explore the wide variety of grills available from this trusted and knowledgeable name in outdoor cooking appliances.

Traeger Grills

Using an outdoor grill can be a wonderful cooking experience.  The usual choice of grills is charcoal, electric, or gas.  However, Traeger grills offer something different:  hardwood cooking that is convenient.  Many people swear by the taste of hardwood-cooked foods, but until now, getting that taste at home has been nearly impossible.  Adding soaked wood chips to a charcoal fire can be a lot of work with a debatable taste difference.  Traeger grills offer the convenience of traditional grills and the flavor of hardwood cooking.

How do Traeger grills work?

Traeger grills cook with wood pellets (made from virgin wood and available in a variety of “flavors” such as alder, hickory, cherry, oak, and others) instead of charcoal or gas. They do require a standard electrical outlet to power the ignition rod, motor, and fan.  Users load the grill’s pellet hopper with wood pellets, close the grill, and turn it on.  The grill then heats the pellets and transfers them to the firepot.  Using the pellets as fuel and a convection airflow system, food is cooked evenly without the need for turning.  Once the food is in the cooking chamber and the grill settings in place, users can essentially set the temperature and let the grill do the work.

What are the benefits of a Traeger?

The grill is versatile, cooking anything from chicken to pizza to smoking meats.  Overnight smoking is easy with this grill, and clean up is a breeze:  simply line the drip pan with heavy aluminum foil and remove it once cooking is done. Convection cooking means no charring and less fat than traditional grills can boast.  The Traeger can be used to grill, braise, roast, bake, smoke, and slow cook, so it does the job of many different outdoor cooking appliances all in one.

The automatic ignition means no lighters, matches, or flare-ups, and the temperature control settings take the guesswork out of cooking.

There are a variety of sizes available, from a small grill perfect for small households to a commercial cooker with 50 square feet of cooking surface.

Where can I find a Traeger grill?

The Traeger website lists locations where these grills are available.  They appear to be sold exclusively at smaller hardware stores, and pricing is not available on the website.  Wood pellets, however, are sold on the website.

Traeger grills are not inexpensive, but they do offer an alternative to traditional grilling methods.  Because they are less hand-on than other methods of grilling, they may not be the perfect choice for every outdoor chef.
